Let's start this with Broken Social Scene. Probably because of the new album coming out on May 4th.

Alright. This album single-handedly convinced me to start listening to indie music. I've never really been able to fully...explain how they appeal to me, but now, after years of trying to expand my idea of what music really means, am I able to get this out. They figured out how to sing with instrumental, epic post-rock. There are so many bands that have real talent at playing gradiose, poppy, orchestral, even beautiful sound, but most of the time, they ruin the feeling they were trying to create with absolutely horrible vocals. It brought entropy and chaos into the mix of whatever they were attempting to forge, ruining the soundscape as a whole. Kevin Drew and Brendan Canning are incredibly talented musicians, and they are more than willing to work with anyone that compliment or resonate with their sound.
